Become part of a global platform committed to advancing women’s rights and achieving substantive equality between women and men.
Membership

WoPAI welcomes as members formal national, regional, and international women’s organisations, including umbrella organisations, that share our vision. As a member, you’ll be part of our joint actions, and in shaping our strategies, decision-making processes, and impactful advocacy efforts.
Informal women’s rights groups can join as supporters, gaining access to WoPAI’s communication channels, activities, and resources.
What is required to become a member of WoPAI?
To become a member of WoPAI, the organization is required to focus on women’s human rights, equality between women and men, or ending male violence against women and girls and also:
- Member organisations should be legally registered.
- Member organisations must align with WoPAI mission and principles laid down in the Statutes and the Charter of Principles
- Member organisations must have at least 1 year of existence (demonstrated either by annual report(s) or by an informal list of actions).
- Member organisations should be women led, i.e. that they should have at least 80% of women in their leadership structures (board and administration or equivalent).
- Member organisations should either have a non-profit status or a non-profit goal (i.e. any profit is reinvested into the organisation’s action).
- Member organisations should be able to demonstrate that their functioning and internal processes are based on democratic values and transparency.
What is the membership fee?
The annual membership fee is 10 EUR per year.
How do you apply?
Applications for membership are made in writing to info@womensplatformforaction.org. Briefly justify why you want to join Women´s Platform for Action International.
The following documents must be attached to the application:
- Document of legal registration to prove one year of existence and your organisation number
- Statutes
- Document that proves there are 80% women in your leadership
- A document verifying legal and financial representatives of the organisations
- Last year activity and financial report
The application will be processed by the WoPAI Board at the meeting following the reception of the application.
